My question today is about attachment: in many teachings conveyed by spiritual authorities -and I think in all of them-, we learn that Man should strive to reach a state of perfect detachment towards everything that is granted to him in this life; that means all the beings he loves, all the riches he has, material and other, that also means life itself, as he should be aware of the short-lasting nature of his human flesh.


But when we read Anastasia's teachings, it seems that she is precisely stating the opposite: first, we should be able to come to life again and meet the people we have loved in this present life; secondly, in his pristine origins, Man was not mortal, and we have lost the ability of staying on earth in the embodiment first given to us forever, which means maybe we should strive to retrieve this ability; then, Anastasia herself is an example of how Man can feel attached to beings or places: see how attached she is to her forest glade, to the point that she couldn't live if she should leave it. See also how she describes the love of the Vedruss people for each other, how they were so attached to their beloved, that they used to retrieve him or her in their new life, under a new embodiment. See as well the attachment to their land expressed by those kids from the Schtetinin School.

Or is it that all those teachings have been striving to give us ineffective recipes and systems to reach freedom? By losing our original link to the universe, we seemed to have lost the freedom which is, and has always been, our birthright. And maybe this freedom is achieved when choosing to cultivate certain links, such as the link to the Motherland, to the family domains, to our families, to the primordial history of Man, etc.? Just like trees need to develop their roots in a definite place, so as to grow and thrive...
