"It is best if we do not listen to or look at the person whom we consider to be
the cause of our anger. Like a fireman, we have to pour water on the blaze first and not waste time looking for the one who set the house on fire."

"In our consciousness, there are many negative seeds and also many positive seeds. The practice is to avoid watering the negative seeds, and to identify and water the positive seeds every day."

“Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets
burned.”

Sorry, but that saying by Thich Nhat Hanh, is taken out of contexte. If you know what this man, a vietnamese buddhist monk who traveled through the USA, during the war in Vietnam to speak of peace, did, and the anger he met, you would be in contexte and understand the pertinence of this saying.
